YeshivahAI Android Privacy Policy
Effective:
Request deletion of YeshivahAI data
Who we are
YeshivahAI is published by Torah AI, whose Google Play developer name is YeshivahAI.org. Torah AI is responsible for the app's data practices. For privacy questions, support, or a request about your information, contact Arie@yeshivahai.org.
Scope
This policy covers the YeshivahAI Android publication-library app and the PDF delivery service it uses at yeshivahai.org. Beginning with version 0.4.0, the app offers optional links to research requests, feedback and donation support. Earlier app versions do not provide those links. Research requests and donations open separate services in your browser. Their own notices and policies also apply when you use them.
Information on your device
The app stores downloaded PDFs, bookmarks, reading position and language preferences in its private local storage. Library search runs on your device. The app does not upload your bookmarks, saved reading position or search text. If you choose a research or support link, the website receives the selected interface-language code in its URL to show the page in that language. It does not require an account, and it has no advertising, analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, payment form, question-submission form or AI chatbot. Reading a publication does not send a prompt to an AI service.
Optional questions, feedback and support
The research-request link opens yeshivahai.org/request in your external browser. The website asks for a name, email address, question and optional sources. Nothing is submitted by the app; you choose what to enter and whether to submit it. The website saves submitted information for review. Submission does not guarantee a response or publication. Do not include unnecessary personal information.
Feedback opens your chosen email app with Arie@yeshivahai.org as the recipient and a subject. If you choose feedback from a publication's reader menu, the subject includes that public publication title. No current page, bookmarks, reading history, downloads, search text or device identifier is attached. You write, review and send the message yourself. Your email provider handles the draft and delivery under its own practices. We handle received correspondence as described under Your choices and requests. Copying a link or email address uses your device's clipboard only when you select that option.
The support link opens yeshivahai.org/donate in your external browser. If you choose to continue, the hosted PayPal Giving Fund page receives the donation, issues the receipt, and recommends Brocha Vehatzlocha LLC as the benefiting charity supporting YeshivahAI, a Torah AI project. PayPal's notices and policies govern payment information you enter there. The Android app does not collect payment details or confirm a payment. Donations are optional, do not unlock content, and do not affect research requests.
Opening any external page can send ordinary network information to its operator and hosting providers. Apart from the selected interface language, the app does not append personal information or reading state to these website links. Your browser or email app may use its own account, cookies and privacy settings.
PDF downloads and operational records
When you open a publication that is not already downloaded, the app requests its PDF from yeshivahai.org over HTTPS. The delivery infrastructure processes and records ordinary request information, including your IP address, country inferred from the IP address, requested publication URL, application user-agent, request time, response status and technical timing. These records are used to deliver publications, investigate service failures and maintain the service's security and reliability. The app does not request GPS or precise-location permission. Inferred country is network metadata, not a GPS reading.
We do not use these operational records for advertising or to create personalized reading profiles. Downloading a title does not create an app account. Once a PDF is saved, the built-in reader can display that copy without another download request.
Hosting and other recipients
The PDF service is hosted through OpenAI's ChatGPT Sites service using Cloudflare infrastructure. OpenAI processes hosted data on our behalf under the applicable data-processing terms and uses service providers, including Cloudflare, to operate the service. Relevant terms and provider information are available at: https://openai.com/policies/chatgpt-sites-data-processing-addendum/ https://openai.com/policies/data-processing-addendum/ https://openai.com/policies/sub-processor-list/ https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
Authorized people supporting the service may access operational records to investigate problems and respond to privacy requests. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law. We do not sell personal information. Data may be processed in countries other than your own; the applicable hosting agreements govern provider safeguards and international transfers. We do not promise that hosting is confined to a particular country.
Opening a PDF in another app
If you choose an external PDF reader, YeshivahAI grants that app read-only access to the selected publication. The selected reader's privacy practices govern its subsequent handling of that file and any links you open in it. Your YeshivahAI bookmarks and saved reading position are not included in that handoff.
Retention and deletion
Local PDFs remain until you remove them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Removing a download keeps its bookmarks and saved page. Clearing the app's storage removes all local downloads, bookmarks, reading positions and preferences. The app does not implement cloud synchronization; Android app backup is disabled in its configuration.
Our policy is to retain personal operational information only for the purposes described here. Retention is determined by whether information is still needed to investigate and resolve a delivery or security problem, fulfill a privacy or support request, or meet a legal obligation. Any diagnostic extracts we retain for a particular investigation are deleted or de-identified when those purposes no longer require them. We do not retain such extracts to build a continuing history of your reading.
Provider-managed request records follow the applicable hosting providers' operational, security and legal retention practices. A request record can remain after the download finishes; clearing local app data does not delete it. We do not promise that every provider-managed record expires after a particular number of days. Our hosting data-processing terms provide for assistance with applicable privacy requests and for return or deletion of hosted data and copies at our instruction following termination, subject to legally required retention. Those contractual provisions are not an assurance of immediate deletion of an individual request record.
Your choices and requests
To request deletion of information held by YeshivahAI, email Arie@yeshivahai.org. Requests may concern retained request logs, diagnostic extracts and support correspondence; any records that must remain for operational or legal reasons are handled as described under Retention and deletion. You can read already-saved PDFs offline and remove local information using the controls described above. To ask about access, correction or deletion of information held by the service, email Arie@yeshivahai.org. Describe the request and, if useful, the approximate time and affected publication. Do not send passwords, payment information or unnecessary identity documents. We may ask for limited information needed to understand or verify a request and will work with our hosting providers when the records are under their control. We will explain any applicable limitation or legal retention requirement and respond in accordance with applicable law; we do not promise an unverified deletion deadline.
If you contact us, we use your email address and the information you choose to include to handle the inquiry and any related follow-up. We retain that correspondence while needed to resolve the inquiry and satisfy related legal obligations, then delete it or de-identify information retained for service improvement. Depending on the laws that apply, you may have additional rights to object to or restrict processing, receive a copy of your information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to a relevant data-protection authority.
Audience
YeshivahAI is intended for readers aged 13 and older engaged in advanced Torah study. It is not designed for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact Arie@yeshivahai.org so we can review and address it. This statement describes the intended audience; it is not a claim that the app verifies every reader's age.
Security and changes
The app uses encrypted HTTPS connections for PDF requests and private local storage for downloads and reading settings. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We will update this policy when our practices materially change and show the revised effective date here. You can contact Arie@yeshivahai.org with questions about this policy.
